History of Savannah, Georgia, and the United State – The Georgia Historical Society

It came to them in the 19th Century, but because records weren’t well kept, it’s unclear exactly how or when they acquired it. One thing is for certain–it’s the cornerstone and crown jewel of their five million objects and documents.

Visitors to the Georgia Historical Society is located in an impressive library with 36 foot high ceilings containing the largest collection of Georgia history materials. If you’re planning on doing research, you’ll need to plan your visit online, ahead of time.
